Being, of course, too tired to sleep and too awake to think, I visited the ever so useful AOL website to see if the new releases for Sept. 11th had been uploaded to the AOL listening party site. Score! 50 Cent's "Curtis" is up and poised to receive verbal assault from yours truly. The first 30 seconds or so is a quote that sets up the record quite nicely, but what track immediately follows this neat opener? Yes! "My gun go off"... awwwww yeeeeeeeeaaa, perfect cannon fodder. The first few words spill through the speakers "My *** go off!".... wtf? Oh yea, I am listening to AOL listening party, ok, I get it. But the next two minutes is the most horrifically gutted track I have heard in a long time... it literally sounded like almost every 4th word was cut out, and the chorus is littered with off tempo, treble heavy gun sounds that are more annoying than cool. Shit, is this really what is classified as "music" nowadays?
P.S. Kanye's new record is M.I.A. on the AOL site... hmmm, they must also have an exclusive dealy with Vitamin Water

LMAO. Every 4th word probably was cut out. I once did an edit of Combicrhrist's "This sh!t will fcuk you up" as a surprise for Alex...and it was actually funny because I had to cut the s-word out so many times the song was funny!!! I don't know why 50 doesn't just go back to what NWA did for Straight Outta Compton and rewrite the songs for radio. You would think AOL would just skip the song if it was THAT butchered. And I rather think it's funny that us 2 metalheads are discussing the editing of rap songs.
